Fanart Friday: Oldschool Spirou

The original look. Inspired by the early Spirou comics by Rob-Vel (and Lafnet).

I grew up reading Spirou in Scandinavian translations. Now I'm learning French and trying to decode the originals.

Just as with Tintin, you can pretty much pinpoint an exact point when Spirou gets an upward-pointing tuft, April 9 1942 and the first page of the serial “Le signe bleu”. (I think Dupuis published it in a Rob-Vel Intégrale, but the story’s a bit dated and contains several ethnic stereotypes.)
