Just as with Tintin, you can pretty much pinpoint an exact point when Spirou gets an upward-pointing tuft, April 9 1942 and the first page of the serial “Le signe bleu”. (I think Dupuis published it in a Rob-Vel Intégrale, but the story’s a bit dated and contains several ethnic stereotypes.)
Tintin gets his backwards bent tuft at the eight page of Tintin in the Land of the Soviets, originally published in the newspaper supplement Le Petit Vingtième n°14, January 31,1929.
